First a writer, Richard Owens has been a film and TV professional now for more than a decade. He honed his craft at NFL Films as a writer, producer, and editor and then at the National Lacrosse League where he managed the league's growing video department. 

It was in those early days that he began to experiment with creating his own documentary films. Those early experimentations often looked to showcase the mundane beauty of our world. 

That passion soon evolved from more visual meditations to character driven films about athletes, musicians, and subcultures. Richard loves diving deep on passionate people devoted to a craft and a goal. Recent projects include the award-winning film 'Cult of Nerd' and 'Ultraviolet'. 

His most recent film and first feature documentary, A Billion to One, will be releasing in 2027.
